Saturday night - Wishing everyone a safe and restful night.

FYI...I will most likely lose power tomorrrow (a.m. or p.m. - not sure)  for several days and will  be unable to post new information.

I kindly ask all of you to post (comment) to this post any information you have regarding people on Cat Island, their homes, infrastructure, photos, contact information, etc..   Your efforts are greatly appreciated by those on Cat Island and abroad.

Thank you and good night.

  5. This is Matt and Sooner Halvorson. We are planning to be there this coming Saturday. Trying to find out condition of Pompey Rock Resort and if Kay, Godfrey and their son are alright. If someone knows could you let us know. Also we can bring some tools, supplies (minimal - commercial flight). What's needed to help with clean ups and needed now repairs.

  7. Frank and Gabi ok and, I believe, resort as well. First thing Gabi asked was what category hurricane hit them, and could not believe it was "only" a 3, as it seemed far worse. I have not heard about Rick and Tailwinds. Has anyone heard anything from/about Pam Poitier?

  8. Have had emails from Pam - she had some roof/window damage, but since she is on solar power we can correspond via email. She has to walk down to Shanna - her 1 comment was that Gabi thinks there may have been a tornado/twister also since there is a path of twisted trees from Shanna up to Pam's driveway. Peder&Annette flew in yesterday with supplies - generators, water, food, etc.

  9. Kristy here with PGA project -

ok a lot of false info on this blog.

candy's has roof and ceiling damage - NOT destroyed, they were open and selling goods

police station in NB - NOT destroyed has some roof damage.

HNest - NOT destroyed but very damaged, roofs gone, Marina is a mess, all boats made it through

The roads are cleared of water however BEC poles are all over the road and make it not passable for containers to make it down the roads.

Smiths bay dock got washed out.

the airport in NB is open and flights have been landing

  10. We have been in touch with Pastor Newbold, Pastor Strachan, Stanley and Sheldon Simmons on the North end of the island. By all accounts there is much destruction and there is virtually NO POTABLE water available on the island. We have put together an emergency relief fund and expect our first shipment of water and food stuffs to go out this week. Please give online at: http://RemoteIsland.org - - Thanks. Dan
